Summary
As a key member of the executive team, the Chief Financial Officer will report to the Chief Executive Officer and have a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The CFO has primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial related activities of the company. This includes direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, and insurance/risk management.
Responsibilities
• Direct and oversee all aspects of the finance and accounting functions of the company.
• Provide leadership in the development and evaluation of short and long term strategic financial objectives.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with other senior executives and provide strategic financial advice and recommendations on the financial implications of business activities.
• Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
• Manage the processes for financial reporting, forecasting, and budgets of the company.
• Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
• Work with various external financial partners to ensure sufficient capital is available to fund the company’s operations.
• Oversee the risk management function of the company ensuring appropriate levels of insurance are in place to support the company.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, MBA and/or CPA preferred.
• Ten plus years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the company.
• Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement and decision making based on accurate and timely analyses.
• High level of integrity and responsibility with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
